Last week, students began their middle of the year reading test. Our class has been working very hard each day to improve their reading. As seen in the pictures below, each day students can be found listening to stories for fluency and expression, reading independently to sharpen their decoding and text analysis skills, and responding to texts through written responses to extend their thinking. As their teacher, I have seen amazing growth with each and every one of them since the beginning of the year. I am so proud of the hard work they have put forth and I want to share in that excitement with you! So...
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
In the morning, when your child goes back to school, take a moment to encourage them to do their best and let them know how thankful you are for them! Our reading test will extend through the middle of next week. Remember, the best way to start the day is with a smile..... :)
