As we prepare for our first day of school Monday, there are a few thing I want to bring to your attention:
Transportation Changes: Please be sure to let us know how your child will be getting home. If you are unsure of bus numbers, routes, or pickup/drop off times please contact TPE at (252) 514-6481. Please note, we do not accept transportation changes over the phone. All changes must be sent in the form of a hand written note, email, or fax.
Dress Code: Students will not be required to wear uniforms this year. Students may wear their normal clothes with a few exclusions: short shorts, spaghetti strap tank tops, clothes that expose undergarments, or violence related clothing. Students are allowed to wear open toe shoes as long as they are not going to PE that day; our scheduled days for PE are Monday and Tuesday. If students do wear open toe shoes on PE days, make sure they bring a change of shoes. If you have any more questions please look in the yellow student handbook/agenda that will remain in your child's homework binder.
Lunch Money: All money should be placed in the black zipper pouch in your child's homework binder with a note for its purpose--lunch, field trip, etc. However, Craven County Schools has now implemented an online system to allow parents to easily place money on their child's lunch account. If you would like to use this service you will need your child's PowerSchool Number to create an account on payforit.net which I can provide for you. For more information about this process please visit the Craven County School website.
PeachJar and CCS application: The school district is making use of many technology tools to allow for easy communication between parents, schools, and administration. Craven County Schools now has an app available for all smart phones in the app store that provides links to blackboard notifications, calendars, powerschool, lunch menus, schoool directories, and more. Peachjar is another application that the district will use to circulate fliers that you would typically see in paper form. You will still receive paper newsletter from Trent Park and the First Grade Team!
